Chance Indeterminecy

Here's something for you to try out.

All you need are some:
-coloring utensils (pens, markers, crayons)
-a pen (black)
-a 2 pieces of blank paper (standard 8 1/2, 11 inches)
-a magazine or catalog (or anything with some sort of advertisement)
-a television or computer
-a blindfold
-some scotch tape
-a coin
-a camera phone or anything that can connect online
-an instagram account. get one for free here: instagram.com

Once you have all these materials, follow these steps.  NO CHEATING. The only way this will work is if you follow through step by step.

READY? BEGIN!!

1.) On one of the blank pieces of paper, fold the paper evenly in thirds.

2.) Draw a line dividing the paper where it folds.

3.) Tape down the other piece of paper down to your table (make sure to tape down the paper on the sides      are taped down long ways, not just the corners).

4.) Grab the coin and flip it once.

5.) If heads skip to #20; If tails go on to #6.

6.) Grab the magazine and turn to page 50 (If no page 50, turn to the middle of the magazine).

7.) Study every detail of this ad for 30 seconds or until the ad is over (All of its contents, colors, words used,      font, etc.).

8.) Throw the magazine on the floor or wall and leave it there.

9.) On the paper divided in thirds, in the first column write down everything you remember from that ad.

10.) Turn on the T.V. and skip to 12; If you have a computer go on to #11.

11.) Go online to YouTube.com and go on to #12.

12.) Repeat #7

13.) After the first ad, turn off your screen.

14.) Repeat #9 but instead of the first column, write down the description in the second column.

15.) In the third column of this paper, write down what similarities the first two columns had (example: use            the color red a lot, in both someone wore a sweater, etc.)

16.) From the third column, pick 5 similarities and remember what they are.

17.) Grab the black pen/marker and put on the blindfold.

18.) Without taking the pen/marker off of the paper, draw the similarities on the paper that is taped down on        the table.

19.) When done take off the blindfold and pick one or two colors from the similarities column and color in            the drawing.

20.) Skip to #22

21.) You'll be working with the cover of the magazine. Go back to #7 and continue on to until you reach              #22.

22.) Marvel at your artwork.

23.) Take a picture with your camera and post the picture on Instagram with #chanceart and @SFGRufiox.

24.) You're done. Clean up.
